I’m excited

3 countries one month...

I would love to take a month-long trip and explore Spain and Italy primarily with a couple of stops in the south of France to include Monaco... what are the Must see stops in Spain and Italy aside from the obvious Madrid, Barcelona, Rome & Venice??? also I am considering a rail and ride pass for Spain... I assume Italy would be a good choice for this type of pass as well... I'd much rather drive through Tuscany at my own pace rather than pass thru it on a train... I open to any and all suggestions?? Also, what are the best times of the year to do this... re: weather and pricing???

thanks a million!

  • Your best option would be to purchase the 3 country Eurail Select Pass 'n Drive. For more information about this pass and prices, please click on the following link http://www.raileurope.com/rail-ticket...

For your stay in Spain, I recommend visiting Toledo and/or Segovia which would make a nice day trip out of Madrid.

WIthin France, anywhere along the French Rivera would be nice to stop. Such as Toulon, St. Raphael, Cannes or Nice.

In Italy, if you will be staying in the Tuscany region, you can take a train down Cinque Terre coast. Otherwise, you can take a high speed train to Naples and then a private line to Pompei to explore to ruins or Sorrento to explore the Amalfi coast.

Since most of Spain, Italy and south of France are warm all year round any time you go would be ideal. However, if you are looking to skip the crowds, February or March would be recommended.
