    Hi,

AD75 rates are not offered on AVE trains. Travel Agent rates (AD75 rates) are not offered for most trains in Europe. In fact, the only individual trains in Europe that even offer Travel Agent rates are the Eurostar between London and either Paris or Brussels or the Thalys trains between Paris and some of the larger cities in Belgium or the Netherlands.

For a complete listing of agency discounted products, you would click on 'Travel Agent Rescources' from the homepage of our travel agent website. You would then either click on 'Book AD75' from the left margin of your screen or else you would scroll down and click on '75% Agency Discount' near the bottom of the page.

The eligibility requirements will be listed there as well. The Eurostar and the Thalys are included in this list of agency discounted products on our website.

If you need to purchase a point-to-point ticket for any train other than a Eurostar or Thalys, then you would have to do so at one of the regular offered rates. You can check ticket costs and schedules for trains between Madrid and Barcelona under 'Check Fares & Schedules' from the homepage of our travel agent website.

Due to our connection with the national rail network of Spain, our website requires that you enter the station name when you do searches for routes in Spain. For schedules between Madrid and Barcelona, you would just type 'Madrid Puerta De Atocha' and 'Barcelona Sants' when you do your search. These are the main stations in each city.

Trains in Spain can only be booked within 60 days of an intended date of departure.

  • Jeff,
If we purchase an AD75 Select Pass it allows you to start in Spain as the first country. There does not appear to be any restriction on using the pass on the AVE from say Madrid to Barcelona.

      Hi Albert,

The AD75 discount applies to the rail pass. There is no additional discount for reservations on top of the rail pass; however, any rail pass that includes Spain does cover the ticket costs for travel on the AVE trains. A rail pass covers the ticket costs on trains between different cities in the country or countries included on the pass. AVE trains do require reservations in addition to the pass. You would purchase your reservations by clicking on 'Reservations For Rail Pass Holders' from the homepage of our travel agent website. Trains in Spain can only be reserved within 60 days of an intended date of departure.

You can travel to the countries included on your pass in any sequence.
