Amsterdam to Antwerp

I am arriving on a Tuesday, 2/5/17, by air and need to get to Antwerp to board a river boat by that evening. There seems to be several trains I can take but I am concerned that my plane might be delayed if I buy a ticket now. Would there be a problem if I just wait and buy it at the station. I am traveling alone

    Hi Jackie,

Tickets can be purchased at the station, although it is generally recommended that tickets be purchased in advance. There is no way for us to anticipate availability. If it helps, the most flexible 1st class fares of the Thalys trains from Amsterdam Schipol Airport to Antwerp are exchangeable for a time period of up to 1 hour after the train's departure.

You would purchase tickets from Amsterdam Schipol to Antwerp by searching the route under 'Find Train Tickets' on our homepage, For trains out of Amsterdam Schipol, you would just type 'Amsterdam Airport' in the field for the departure city.

When you pull up the results of your search, you would find the exchange and refund policies by clicking the 'View' button under the cost for a particular fare. After you click 'View', a box will expand out underneath where the exchange and refund policies for that fare will be stated. For Thalys trains, the most flexible ticket offered is called 'Thalys Flexi Adult' and would be found under the 'Flexible' option for the costs that display under the 'Premier' heading. Any of the tickets offered under the 'Semi Flexible' option for the Thalys trains might be exchangeable, but only before the train's departure. To verify that you're being quoted the 'Thalys Flexi Adult' fare and for more information about the exchange and refund policy, click 'Read More' under the 'Flexible' option.
