Are there less trains available in Spain June 3-8?

Is there a stoppage of train services in Spain the week of June 3 to 7? We are trying to book a train from Barcelona to Madrid June 5 an then Madrid to Seville June7 but the options are very limited compared to other weeks.

    Hi Denis,

This time of year, there is something called the 'Summer Schedule Change' that occurs with the national rail network of Spain. As a result of the 'Summer Schedule Change', the rail network of Spain has not yet opened up their trains for booking for dates in June and July. The June schedules are just now starting to come in, and we've just received word that they all should be in by around May 18th. As the June schedules continue to come in, you'll begin go see more trains and routes.

Rest assured, there is no service stoppage and you will be able to purchase your tickets soon. I would just recommend checking periodically in the meantime.

When the time comes, you would purchase tickets from Barcelona to Madrid and Madrid to Seville by searching the routes under 'Book Train Tickets' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. For your reference, at other times of the year, trains in Spain are generally able to be booked within 60-90 days of an intended departure date.

Trains from Barcelona to Madrid and Madrid to Seville are high-speed AVE trains.
