    Hi Miriam,

The Madrid Barajas Airport does not have a rail station that services other parts of Spain. The station at the Madrid Barajas Airport only services local commuter/suburban trains and metro trains from Madrid itself.

Trains from Barcelona arrive into the Atocha station in Madrid. To get to the airport, you would take the C-1 line of the local Cercanías suburban rail network. These Cercanías trains depart from the Atocha Cercanías station, adjacent to the main Atocha station. They depart once every 30 minutes throughout the day and the ride takes about 25-30 minutes to the airport.

Trains from Barcelona to Madrid are high-speed AVE trains. Tickets for these trains are valid to cover Cercanías trains to the airport within 3 hours of your arrival into Madrid Atocha.

You would purchase tickets for a train from Barcelona to Madrid by searching the route under 'Find Train Tickets' on our homepage, www.raileurope.com. Generally, these trains can be booked once within 90 days of an intended date of departure.
