Change in reply by Jeff to Hi Sasha,<br /><br />The Barcelona El Prat Airport is only serviced by local commuter trains that go into the city of <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/city/barcelona" rel="nofollow">Barcelona</a>. Trains from <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/city/barcelona" rel="nofollow">Barcelona</a> to <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/city/madrid" rel="nofollow">Madrid</a> are <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/train/renfe-spanish-high-speed-trains-7548" rel="nofollow">AVE</a> high-speed trains that depart from the <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/place/barcelona-sants" rel="nofollow">Sants station</a> in the city.<br /><br />To get from the Barcelona El Prat Airport into the city, you would take a local 'C2' Cercanías train. These trains depart once every 30 minutes throughout the day and the ride takes about 20 to 25 minutes between the airport and the <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/place/barcelona-sants" rel="nofollow" title="Link: https://www.raileurope.com/place/barcelona-sants">Sants station</a>. You would pay to board the Cercanías locally upon arrival.<br /><br />You would purchase tickets from <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/train-tickets/journeys/article/barcelona-madrid" rel="nofollow">Barcelona to Madrid</a> by searching the route under 'BOOK TRAIN TICKETS' on the homepage of our website, <a href="http://www.raileurope.com" rel="nofollow">www.raileurope.com</a>. Generally, trains in <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/destinations/country-guides/article/spain" rel="nofollow">Spain</a> can be booked within 60-90 days of an intended departure date. If your intended departure falls outside of this time frame, you would just have to use an earlier date (a day within the next 60 days from now) to get an idea of the ticket costs and schedules in the meantime.<br /><br />For the best experience, 1st class is recommended..
