Can the BritRail 2 for 1 be done on a non-travel date?

Can I use BritRail 2 for 1 on a date when I don't intend to travel by trains but the pass is still valid within the duration?

    Hi,

You do not have to travel on the same day you plan to utilize the BritRail Pass '2FOR1' bonus. However, the bonus does have to be utilized within the validity period of your pass.

If you purchased your BritRail Pass as a 'flexi' pass, then it would require the use of a day on a the pass to utilize the '2FOR1' bonus.

The various BritRail Passes include the following:

    - The BritRail Pass: valid for England, Wales, and Scotland

    - The BritRail England Pass: valid only in England

    - The BritRail London Plus Pass: only covers areas in the south of England surrounding London

    - The BritRail South West Pass: covers only specific areas of southwest England and parts of Wales

For the BritRail London Plus Pass, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/pass/britrail-london-plus-pass-5894

For the most comfortable travel experience, we recommend booking your pass 1st class.

For trains in the UK, passholder reservations are only able to be purchased locally and are really only recommended on trains that take over 2 hours. You can purchase reservations by going to the ticket counter in the station and mentioning that you have a rail pass. If your train ride in the UK takes under 2 hours, there is no need at all for you to purchase reservations and the rail pass would be sufficient for you to board.
