Can I get off train and out of the rail station at Bordeaux without stairs?

I will have 1 bag and cannot navigate stairs with a bad knee. Are there elevators and porters available at Bordeaux?

    Thank you for your question.

While porter service is generally no longer offered at the typical station in Europe, the station in Bordeaux (the Bordeaux St Jean station) is an exception and does offer such assistance. With that said, such assistance can only be arranged locally. In any case, the Bordeaux St Jean station does have escalators. For general information about the Bordeaux St Jean station, you would click here: http://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/france/bordeaux/train-station/gare-bordeaux-saint-jean....

You would purchase any tickets and check schedules by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage and entering a route.

  • Thanks so much. How do I arrange in advance for porters? There are 27 of us and a few cannot do stairs and we all like baggage handling assistance.

I'm sorry, however, assistance can only be arranged locally in France. We are the United States-based seller of tickets and passes for the North American market. On the page for the Bordeaux St Jean station on our site, there is a phone number listed for a tourist office. The number is 335 56 91 64 70. You could try that number and see if they might have a recommendation for you.
