Can I travel with an assembled bike from Amsterdam to Brussels and do I need to make reservations for the bike?

There are two of us travelling on the 28th March from Amsterdam to London. Our Eurostar tickets for both us and the bikes are booked. Can we get our bikes on trains between Amsterdam and Brussels and can these be booked in advance?

    Hi Dan,

From Amsterdam to Brussels, there are regular InterCity (IC) trains and high-speed Thalys trains. Fully assembled bikes are allowed on these InterCity trains but not the Thalys trains. The InterCity trains would just require that you purchase a special ticket for your bike before boarding. This would be done right at the station.

You would purchase tickets for a train from Amsterdam to Brussels by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage (www.raileurope.com) and entering the route. When you pull up the results of your search, you can identify the InterCity trains on this route by their train number. Train numbers for the Amsterdam-Brussels InterCity trains have 4 digits and begin with a '92'. In contrast, the Thalys would be labeled.

Generally, the InterCity trains can only be booked within 60 days of an intended date of departure, while the Thalys trains can be booked within 90 days of an intended date of departure.
