Central Europe Triangle Pass? Hong Kong Resident.

Hi,
We are thinking about purchasing the Central Europe Triangle Pass to travel through Vienna, Budapest and Prague. Does this pass include all trains, including overnight trains? Where do I find the schedules for the specific routes this pass includes? thank you very much! Carolina

    Hi Carolina,

The Central Europe Triangle Pass is only valid to cover the ticket costs for one of the following 2 itineraries:

    1.) Vienna - Budapest - Prague - Vienna
    2.) Vienna - Salzburg - Prague - Vienna

It is valid to cover the ticket costs on any train comprising of these itineraries, including overnight trains.

You can start in one of those cities and just follow the triangle back to your starting point.

You can purchase your reservations by clicking on 'Book a Reservation for Your Pass' from the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. You would then be prompted to enter the cities you'll be traveling between, preferred date of travel and the type of pass you'll be traveling with. Please note, however, that the Central Europe Triangle Pass is currently not an option here for you to select. Until this is fixed, to book reservations for travel with the Central Europe Triangle Pass, you would actually just have to enter the 'European East Pass' as the pass you'll be traveling with. We apologize for any confusion.

For any night train along these routes, where the prices would ordinarily display, an error message may appear that states the following:

"This train requires the passholder to purchase a seat reservation; however the passholder fares are unavailable or sold out at this time, or your pass is not valid for the pass holder fares on this route. You can still travel on this train with a regular ticket. To book a regular ticket now, please click here."

Please disregard this error message, as it is incorrect, and accommodations on the train are likely to be available. If this error message displays corresponding to a night train on this route, you would just have to call us at 1-800-622-8600 to book the reservations. We hope to have the error displaying this message to be fixed as soon as possible, and we apologize for any confusion.

Trains departing out of Austria and Hungary can be booked at any point within 90 days of an intended date of departure. Trains departing out of the Czech Republic can only be booked within 60 days of an intended departure.

  • I am a Hong Kong resident, interested in purchasing the pass. However, there is nowhere in the Rail europe HK site that I can find this pass (central europe triangle pass). Would you be able to deliver the passes to Hong Kong? Thanks.

      Hi Arthur,

This site is for the North American ticket and rail pass supplier for the various national rail networks of Europe. We are generally not able to sell to residents of countries outside of North America, due to local restrictions. Residents of countries outside of North America would have to contact affliated agencies that service their respective country. If you are a resident of Hong Kong, you would book through an affiliated agency there. Their website is http://www.raileurope.hk/?var_lang=en....

  • Hi Jeff,

When is this going to be fixed? Any ETA? I am currently residing in Singapore, holding a Singapore passport. If I can book the ticket via US website using a proxy, will rail europe honor the pass?
