Chocolate Train One-Way from Montreux to Broc & then to the nearest Golden Express stop to Interlaken

We wondered if we could take the Chocolate Train one way from Montreiux to the Broc and then somehow make our way to the nearest Golden Express stop for a continuing trip to Interlaken. We need to be in Interlaken by early evening.

    Hi Maureen,

The Chocolate Train excursion that we sell involves more than just one visit to Broc. It is a specific tour that includes a 2.5 hour stop in Gruyères (to visit the cheese factory and castle there) on the way from Montreux to Broc. From Gruyères, you would then continue on to Broc by bus instead of train. After visiting the chocolate factory in Broc, you would return to Montreux by direct train.

In any case, the GoldenPass journey starts in Montreux, so you'll want to return there anyway after you visit Broc.

Even though the Chocolate Train excursion is a round-trip between Montreux and Broc, you would purchase this particular ticket on our website like it's a one-way. To purchase tickets, you would enter a route under 'Find Train Tickets' on our homepage, For the Chocolate Train ticket, you would just do one search from Montreux to Broc. Even though the ticket is issued as a one-way, it is actually valid for the round-trip between Montreux and Broc via the specifics of the Chocolate Train excursion I described above. The ticket also covers admission to the cheese factory and castle in Gruyères, as well as the chocolate factory in Broc.

Generally, we are not able to provide schedules on this forum; however, the Chocolate Train is a specific tour that runs once per day on the days that it operates, and our website will only display an arrival time into Broc when you pull up the results of your search (without the arrival time back into Montreux). The Chocolate Train excursion departs Montreux at 8:57 AM and would have you back into Montreux at 5:34 PM or 5:57 PM. Keep in mind that its schedules are subject to change.

The GoldenPass route from Montreux to Interlaken just involves changing trains once in Zweisimmen along the way. When you purchase tickets for this trip on our site, you piece together the connection by doing a separate search for each segment. Therefore, you would do one search for trains from Montreux to Zweisimmen and another search for connecting trains from Zweisimmen to Interlaken.

On the segment from Montreux to Zweisimmen, you'll have the option of either ‘Classic’ GoldenPass trains or ‘Panorama’ GoldenPass trains. These will be labeled accordingly when you pull up the results of this search. Coaches on the 'Classic' trains have a vintage turn-of-the-century Belle Époque look, whereas the 'Panorama' trains have a more modern look. 'Classic' GoldenPass trains also have 'wine cellar coaches', which offer a wider selection of wine than would be offered in the bar cars on the 'Panorama' trains; however, food is available for purchase on both the 'Classic' and 'Panorama' trains. The Classic trains have large windows, but the windows on the Panorama trains are more “panoramic”, as the name suggests.

Generally, the Chocolate Train excursion and the GoldenPass trains can be booked once within 90 days of an intended date of departure.
