Cost of Reservations when you buy a first class Eurail Pass

If I buy a first class Eurail Pass what reservation do I have to purchase? Do I buy an economy reservation but still sit in first class? Sorry if this is a stupid question

    Hi Christ,

If you purchase a 1st class rail pass, then you can purchase your reservations in either 1st or 2nd class. If you purchase a 2nd class rail pass, then your reservations would have to be in 2nd class.

You would book your reservations by clicking on 'Book a Reservation for Your Pass' from the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. When you pull up the results of your search, 2nd class reservation costs would be listed under the 'Economy' heading. Depending on the train, 1st class reservation costs would be listed under either the 'Comfort' or the 'Premier' heading.

Most trains in Europe can only be reserved within 60 or sometimes 90 days of an intended date of departure. If your intended date of travel happens to fall outside of this time frame, then you would just enter a date within the next 60 or 90 days to get an idea of the reservation cost and view schedules when searching a route.
