Costa del Sol! How do I get to my destination on the Costa del Sol? Do I go through Malaga or Seville?

Traveling from Madrid to Costa del Sol our final destination is Marriott de Playa on Carretera de Cadiz, Km 168. Also what is the fastest way by train to get there is it either via Seville or Malaga? Will we be doing any transfer or connecting trains, bus and others to get to our destination?

    Hi Ramona.

I'm sorry, however, we would not have any information about the proximity of stations to hotels and landmarks. However, Malaga is the station that services the Costa del Sol. From Malaga, you can take a bus or taxi to get to other destinations along the coast. Buses from Malaga to Marbella, for instance, would take about 45 minutes. There are also local 'Cercanías Málaga' trains that go from Malaga to Fuengirola. The full ride between Malaga and Fuengirola would also take about 45 minutes. These trains make stops at various stations along the cost, including the Malaga Airport, Torremolinos, and Benalmádena. Tickets for the buses and the 'Cercanías Málaga' trains are only able to be purchased locally in Spain.

I would recommend contacting your hotel for directions to their specific location. They would likely be able to tell you the best way to get there from Malaga.

You would purchase tickets for trains from Madrid to Malaga by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage (www.raileurope.com) and entering the route. The trains from Madrid to Malaga are high-speed 'AVE' trains. Generally, trains in Spain can be booked once within 60 to 90 days of an intended date of departure.
