    Hi Linda,

    Prague to Dresden

With regard to a train from Prague to Dresden, the European East Pass would cover the segment of the route in the Czech Republic, while the German Rail Pass would take over as soon as you cross the border into Germany. For such travel, a 'travel day' would be counted off of each pass.

In addition to the European East Pass and the German Rail Pass, reservations are recommended on the trains from Prague to Dresden. Trains from Prague to Dresden are EC (EuroCity) trains.

For travel with a rail pass, you would purchase reservations for a train from Prague to Dresden by clicking the 'Seat Reservations' tab on our homepage (www.raileurope.com), entering the route, and indicating that you'll be traveling with either a 'Eurail Global Pass'.

Even though it is actually the case that you'll be traveling with 2 different passes (a European East Pass and a German Rail Pass), our system would just require that you enter one pass that covers the entire route. If you indicate that you'll be traveling with either the European East Pass or the German Rail Pass, our website will think that you do not have the necessary coverage for the entire route and then fail to quote you the appropriate passholder reservation fees.

Generally, trains from Prague to Dresden can only be reserved within 60 days of an intended departure date.

    Prague to Nuremberg

The German Rail Pass is actually valid to cover the full route of the InterCity Buses between Prague and Nuremberg. The buses from Prague to Nuremberg will just require reservations, as a supplement to the rail pass.

Generally, passholder reservations can be purchased through our website. Due to an error, however, it is currently not possible for the buses from Prague to Nuremberg. Until this is resolved, you would have to purchase these particular reservations and inquire about their costs by calling us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.

Generally, the buses from Prague to Nuremberg can only be reserved within 60 days of an intended departure date.
