Do we need to make a bus reservation to get to Granada after taking the train to Antequera from Madrid?

We are trying to get to Granada from Madrid. I see that we can only take the train as far as Antequera If we take the train to the Antequera Station, do we then need to make a bus reservation ahead of time or can we just get on a bus when we arrive? How much is a bus ticket? Approximately how long of a bus ride?
Thank you!

Thank you for your question, Lani.

That is correct. There is currently major construction on the rail line from Madrid to Granada between Antequera and Granada. Until its completed, travelers would take the train as far as Antequera, where the Spanish national rail network is providing bus service for those continuing on to Granada. You would not purchase advanced reservations for the bus, as your ticket for the train from Madrid to Antequera would enable you to board. Rest assured, the buses to Granada are scheduled specifically to connect from the trains arriving in from Madrid. Therefore, you would have about 10 to 20 minutes between your train's arrival into Antequera and the next bus to Granada.

The trains from Madrid to Antequera are high-speed AVE or Altaria trains. You would purchase tickets and check schedules for trains from Madrid to Antequera by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage. For Antequera to be recognized by our website, you would have to type it as 'Antequera Sta.ANA', like so:

Generally, trains in Spain can only be booked once within 60 to 90 days of an intended date of departure.
