Does it count as a second rail day if your train is from 10pm to 12:30am (for example)?

If you have purchased 5 days of travel with the Eurail select pass, and your train is at night and goes over the midnight time, does that start another rail-day, or does it only count when you get on?

    Thank you for your question.

Only if you take a direct overnight train that departs prior to 7:00 pm and arrives into your destination the next morning would 2 days of rail travel would be used up on your rail pass. With that said, most night trains depart after 7:00 pm, in which case only 1 day of rail travel would be used up on a rail pass, provided you have not already used your pass for travel earlier in that same day. When marking the day of use for such a night train on your rail pass, you would just want to be sure to enter the date of the morning you arrive, as opposed to the date the train actually departs.

If you happen to take an overnight connection that involves changing trains before midnight, then 2 days of rail travel would be used up on your rail pass for that connection.
