Eurail Global Pass for Switzerland, Germany, France, and Dublin

We will be traveling throughout Switzerland, Germany, France, and Dublin over the course of 3 weeks. I am wondering if we can buy one pass that will cover all the trains (ie the Eurail Global Pass), or if we still need to purchase the Swiss Travel Pass separately? Thanks!

    Hi Leatra,

The Eurail Global Pass does include Switzerland, Germany, France, and even Ireland. For the Eurail Global Pass, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/pass/eurail-global-pass-5880.

You can also include all 4 of those countries on the 4 country option of the Eurail Select Pass. For the 4 country Eurail Select Pass, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/pass/eurail-select-pass-5879.

It is not necessary that you purchase the Swiss Travel Pass separately, but you certainly have that option.

The best option always depends on the specifics of the itinerary itself and various other factors. If you’d like assistance determining the best option for an itinerary, you would call us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.

    • Hi Jeff, thank you so much for the information! I am having a hard time trying to call the customer service number (it is ringing fast busy the last few days)... is there another number you can recommend? We are planning to fly into Zurich and spend 6 days using the Swiss rail system between Zermatt, Montreux, Lucerne, the Rhine Falls, and day/night trip into Germany to the Bavarian area to the Fussen area. We are not sure if we will fly to Dublin from Zurich, or go onto Munich and fly from there. Then we plant to spend a week in Dublin and the following week in France.
While in Switzerland we plan to use the metro, bus system, Golden Pass line, SBB, and the Chocolate train excursion... will the Eurail Select or Global passes work for all of these (I understand there are reservations require for 2 of the trains and there may be a surcharge?). Also, will we need a pass that will allow us to go through the small part of Austria on our way to Fussen?
      Thanks again!
