Change in reply by Jeff to Hi Kovit,<br /><br />The objective of a rail pass is to cover the ticket costs for trains running ‘inter-city’ between different cities within the country or countries included on the pass. Any rail pass that includes <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/spain/index.html" rel="nofollow">Spain</a> is valid to cover any train operated by the national rail network of <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/spain/index.html" rel="nofollow">Spain</a>, including the <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/european-trains/ave/how-to-book.html" rel="nofollow" title="Link: https://www.raileurope.com/european-trains/ave/how-to-book.html">AVE</a> high-speed trains.<br /><br />When applicable, reservations are a supplementary cost to a rail pass. <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/european-trains/ave/how-to-book.html" rel="nofollow">AVE</a> trains do require reservations. For travel with a rail pass, you would purchase reservations by clicking the 'Seat Reservations' tab on our homepage (<a href="http://www.raileurope.com" rel="nofollow" title="Link: http://www.raileurope.com">www.raileurope.com</a>), entering a route, and indicating the type of rail pass with which you'll be traveling (i.e. a 'Eurail Spain Pass').<br /><br />'Economy', 'Comfort', and 'Premier' are merely designations that we use to group fares and are not the actual names of the fares. In <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/spain/index.html" rel="nofollow" title="Link: https://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/spain/index.html">Spain</a>, Premier and Comfort both refer to the same type of 1st class accommodation. When booking passholder reservations for trains in <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/spain/index.html" rel="nofollow">Spain</a>, 1st class would be found under the 'Comfort' heading and 2nd class would be found under the 'Economy' heading.<br /><br />Generally, trains in <a href="https://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/spain/index.html" rel="nofollow">Spain</a> can be reserved once within 90 days of an intended departure date..
