Rest assured, it is not necessary that you have reservations on any of the trains from <a href="http://www.raileurope.com/popular-routes/zurich-to-st-gallen.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Zurich to St Gallen</a>, including the EuroCity trains and the InterCity trains.
