Can I get a discount on Eurostar with a Eurail pass?

If I have used up all the days on my Eurail Select pass before I go to London, will I still get the discount on the Eurostar? Is my Eurail Select still considered "valid"?

Thank you for your question, Lauren.

To be eligible to receive Passholder rates on the Eurostar, you would just need to have a valid rail pass (and, of course, the rail pass would have to include one of the countries your particular Eurostar train would be departing from or arriving into, be it France, Great Britain, or the 'Benelux'). Since actual ticket costs for the Eurostar aren't covered by any rail pass, it would just be a discounted rate you'd be receiving. Considering this, it would not require a day of rail travel on your pass to receive a Passholder rate to take this particular train. Therefore, you would be able to use your pass to receive the Passholder rate on the Eurostar, even if your rail days will already be used up on your pass - provided that the travel still falls within the longer validity period of the pass and the Passholder rates themselves are available. Of course, you would still need to have the pass in your possession when you take this train.

You would purchase tickets at the Passholder rate on the Eurostar on Rail Europe's website. The Eurostar is unique in that it can generally be booked up 6 to 9 months in advance of a departure. The Passholder rates can sell out very quickly, especially during the busy Spring and Summer travel season, so I would recommend purchasing your tickets on this train as soon as possible.

      IMPORTANT UPDATE

As of this month (April 2018):

The following rail passes no longer qualify passengers to receive ‘passholder’ rates for reservations on the Eurostar:

Any single country Eurail Pass, including:

      • Eurail France Pass
      • Eurail Benelux Pass

Any 2 country option of Eurail Select Pass, including:

      • Eurail France-Italy Pass
      • Eurail France-Switzerland Pass
      • Eurail France-Germany Pass
      • Eurail Benelux-France Pass
      • Eurail France-Spain Pass
      • Eurail Benelux-Germany Pass

BritRail Passes and the France-Italy combination of the 2 country Eurail Select Pass continue to not be valid on the Eurostar.

Passengers traveling with any of these rail passes would need to purchase regular tickets to take the Eurostar.

Passholder rates will continue to be offered (depending on availability) to any passenger traveling with a Eurail Global Pass, a 3 country Eurail Select Pass (that includes the country of arrival or departure, be it France or the Benelux), or a 4 country Eurail Select Pass (that includes the country of arrival or departure, be it France or the Benelux).

    Paris to London railpass rates.

When ordering a train from Paris to London on Eurostar, railpass owners get a discount. How do I find out the rate for railpass holders, also, is the rate valid if all 4 days of my railpass have been used, but has not expired yet?
