I’m excited

France or bust! Also plans to go to Italy & Spain.

I'll be in France for one month. I know I'm going from Paris to Aix on the TGV and on a few day trips. I also plan to go Italy and Spain while I'm in Aix. Ideas for best deals? What rails pass should I get?

    Hi Kelly,

What you should purchase would depend on your specific itinerary, as well as various other factors. You can purchase a 'France Rail Pass' to cover travel around France only. Otherwise, there is the 'Eurail Select Pass', which is a pass that would cover travel to 4 bordering countries, in which case you could include France, Italy, Spain, and one other bordering country.

You would check costs for the France Rail Pass here: http://www.raileurope.com/rail-tickets-passes/the-france-rail-pass/index.html.

You would check costs for the Eurail Select Pass here: http://www.raileurope.com/rail-tickets-passes/eurail-select-pass/index.html.

You can check schedules for trains from Paris to Aix en Provence by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage and entering the cities. If you end purchasing a rail pass to cover your travels, you would purchase reservations for a train from Paris to Aix en Provence by clicking on 'Book your Rail Pass Reservations' (instead of 'Find Fares & Schedules') on our homepage, entering the cities, and indicating the type of rail pass you'll be traveling with when you're prompted. Also, when doing your search, you would want to type 'Aix En Provence TGV' as the destination city for the trains to pull up. The TGV trains from Paris do arrive into the Aix en Provence TGV station.

Trains in France, including the TGV trains between Paris and Aix en Provence, can be booked once within 90 days of an intended date of departure. If your intended travel falls outside of this time frame, you would just use a more imminent date, some time within the next 90 days, to get an idea of the reservation costs and view schedules when searching the route on our site.
