  • Hi Steve,

With regard to the special 'France-Switzerland Deluxe' that is currently being offered, you would be able to use the France Pass to receive what is called a 'Passholder 2' rate on one of the high-speed 'Lyria' trains that connect certain hubs in Switzerland with Paris. Lyria trains to Paris depart from Base, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, or Zurich. There are also Lyria trains that happen to run from Geneva to Lyon, Valence, Avignon, Marseille, Toulon, St. Raphael, Antibes, Cannes, Nice, or Montpellier in the south of France.

To ensure you are purchasing the tickets at a Passholder 2 rate one of the Lyria trains, you would take the following steps:

1.) You would do a search for your route under 'Book your Rail Pass Reservations' on our homepage and indicate the type of pass you are traveling with when prompted (here you would just indicate that you'll be traveling with a 'France Rail Pass').

2.) You would then locate a direct train for the route you're searching and click on 'View' listed with the costs that are shown for your preferred train.

3.) After you've clicked on 'View', you would then refer to where it says 'Ticket Flexibility'. Underneath 'Ticket Flexibility', you may see 3 options: 'Non Flexible', 'Semi Flexible' and 'Fully Flexible. You would click 'Read More' next to each of these options until you see the fare titled 'TGV Lyria Passholder 2' or something similar. Generally, the Passholder 2 rate for this train would be found under the 'Fully Flexible' option.

4.) Be sure the option labeled 'TGV Lyria Passholder 2' is checked, and then click 'Select' to proceed and add it to your 'Itinerary' (shopping cart).

These rates sell out very quickly, so I would just recommend booking your reservations as soon as possible. These trains can be booked within 90 days of an intended date of departure.
