    Hi Srinivasan,

There is actually a major rail station right at the Frankfurt Airport. From this station, you can connect to other destinations around Germany.

At the airport itself, the time it takes to get from the gate to the train platforms can depend on several factors. I would recommend allowing a time comparable to the amount of time it would take you to walk through your typical major airport and retrieve luggage. It is also recommended that you allow an additional hour to get through customs if your flight is arriving from overseas. When you get off your plane, you would follow the signs to the station or else you can inquire with an attendant at your gate or information desk.

The main station in the city of Frankfurt (Frankfurt Hbf) is only a 10-15 minute train ride from the station at the airport.

You would purchase tickets by entering a route on our homepage, www.raileurope.com. For trains departing out of the station at the airport, you would just have to be sure to type 'Frankfurt Airport' in the field for the departure city. When you pull up the results of your search, the station at the airport would be labeled as ‘F-Flughafen Fernbf’ (‘flughafen’ just means ‘airport’ in German).

  • If I have a German railway pass, do I need to purchase the ticket to travel from the airport to the central station? Thanks.
