    Hi Milly.

It is possible to connect up with the Glacier Express from Florence. The closest Glacier Express stop to Florence would be the one in Brig. A connection from Florence to Brig would take just over 4 hours in duration and involves changing trains once in Milan along the way.

You would purchase tickets and check schedules by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage and entering the route. You should be able to do one search for the full connection from Florence to Brig (which would reflect the train change in Milan). Otherwise, you can do a separate search for each segment of the connection. Therefore, you would do one search for trains from Florence to Milan (high-speed 'Frecciarossa' trains, regular 'InterCity' trains, and high-speed 'Italo' trains) and another search for connecting trains from Milan to Brig ('EuroCity' trains).

When doing these searches, just be sure to match the station of departure for your train from Milan to Brig with the station of arrival for your train from Florence to Milan. The trains from Milan to Brig only depart from the Milan Centrale station, while there are some trains from Florence to Milan, which only arrive into other stations in Milan. The 'Italo' trains, for instance, will only arrive into the Porta Garibaldi or Rogoredo stations, not the Centrale station.

(Note: The Milan Centrale would be labeled as 'Milano C.LE' and the Milan Porta Garibaldi station would be labeled as 'Milano P Garibal' when you pull up schedules.)

If it happens that you need to commute between the Porta Garibaldi station and the Centrale station, you would take Line 2 of the Milan Metro. The ride between the Porta Garibaldi station and the Centrale station only takes about about 5 minutes. You would pay to ride the Metro locally before boarding.

From Brig, you can then either follow the Glacier Express route west to Zermatt or east to St Moritz. The full route of the Glacier Express runs between Zermatt and St Moritz. Zermatt is only about 1.5 hours from Brig by train, and St Moritz is 6.5 hours from Brig on the Glacier Express.
