I’m confused

Glacier Express Tour, is train trip from St. Moritz to Zurich included?

I am confused by this section: " Includes a Swiss Transfer Ticket Combi incl. Swiss Half Fare Card with 3 transfers of train travel including Switzerland’s most famous and scenic Glacier Express."
OK, obviously, this offer includes a hotel stay in Zermatt and in St. Moritz, and the Glacier Train trip from Zermatt to St. Moritz. But what does "a Swiss Transfer Ticket Combi incl. Swiss Half Fare Card with 3 transfers of train travel" mean? May i reserve a free trip from Geneva to Zermatt, and then a free train trip from St. Moritz to Zurich?

    Hi Gabriel,

Please note, we are not open 24 hours a day. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays. Responses from this messageboard would only be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT Monday to Friday.

By booking the 'Glacier Express Tour', you would receive a 'Swiss Transfer Ticket with Half Fare Card Combi'. We're sorry, as this does appear to be insufficiently explained on the 'Glacier Express Tour' page on our site.

I'll try to clear that up for you right here.

The 'Swiss Transfer Ticket' and the 'Half Fare Card' are separate items.

The 'Swiss Transfer Ticket' is what you would use to cover the ticket costs for your trains. This would be valid to cover your connection from Geneva to Zermatt, your ride on the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St Moritz, and then your connection from St Moritz to Zurich.

You can then use the 'Half Fare Card' to receive a 50% discount on any other travels you might decide to do in between. For instance, when you're in Zermatt, you could use the 'Half Fare Card' to receive 50% off a trek to Gornergrat for views of the Matterhorn.

To receive the 50% discount on a trek to Gornergrat, you would purchase the 'Zermatt to Gornergrat for Swiss Half Card Holders' option of a ticket called the 'Gornergrat Mountain Peak'. You would purchase the 'Gornergrat Mountain Peak' ticket here: https://www.raileurope.com/activities/gornergrat/index.html.

This would cover you for a roundtrip on the 'Gornergratbahn' cog railway between Zermatt and Gornergrat. In Gornergrat, there is an observatory with spectacular views of the Matterhorn.

Of course, in addition to the 'Swiss Transfer Ticket with Half Fare Card Combi', you would receive the 2 hotel night accommodations.

After you submit an order for the 'Glacier Express Tour', one of our representatives would call you to help set up your reservations on the actual Glacier Express train between Zermatt and St Moritz. When taking the Glacier Express train, you would need to show your 'Swiss Transfer Ticket' and your reservations.

Trains comprising of connections from Geneva to Zermatt and St Moritz to Zurich don't need reservations, so the 'Swiss Transfer Ticket' is all you would need to board.
