Have seat reservation for Glacier Express. How do I buy the ticket between St. Moritz and Zermatt?

I am trying to buy in advance the ticket for travel on Glacier Express without having the seat reservation fee added in as I already have the seat reservation. Having difficulty navigating the various sites to accomplish this. One issue is the date and time of my seat reservation (22 May 19, 10.20h, class 1) is fully booked.

Also, am I best to book all legs of this journey together? Zurich to St. Moritz (21, May) and Zermatt via Brig to Zurich 23, May. Or, are these legs easy to purchase day of travel?

Thanks in advance for assistance.

    Hi Jerry,

The tickets we offer online would come with a reservations, so I'm not sure how to advise about this. How did you get a reservation without a ticket?

It is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance, before leaving for Europe. To avoid being charged in any unnecessary shipping/processing fees, it is recommended that all tickets be purchased together in the same order.

If you'll be doing that much traveling, you might want to consider purchasing the Swiss Travel Pass, instead of tickets. For the Swiss Travel Pass, you would click here: https://www.raileurope.com/pass/swiss-pass-5934.

The Swiss Travel Pass would cover your ticket costs, so you would not need to purchase that ticket for your Glacier Express from St Moritz to Zermatt. As long as you already have the reservation, all you'd need is that and the Swiss Travel Pass to board.

  • Hi. Reservations are available directly from the Glacier Express line in advance of the train tickets going on sale.
    Thank you for your help.
