Help! Need to get from Granada to Madrid Oct 18th but not able to book.

I've tried for two days to obtain a ticket for above travel and RailEurope/RENFE, whatever you want to call it, keeps telling me can"t book at this time. This is within the "60 days prior" schedule, so I don't know what the problem is. Please help. Thanks

    Hi Walter.

Currently, the national rail network of Spain is working to make improvements on the rail line that runs west out of Granada, so that there will be faster service between Granada and Madrid. Until it’s completed, travelers would have to start this journey by taking a bus from the station in Granada to the town of Antequera. In Antequera, you would switch to the train that would take you up to Madrid.

You would check schedules and purchase tickets by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage (www.raileurope.com) and entering the route. For this particular trip, you would piece together the connection by doing a separate search for each segment. Also, for Antequera to be recognized by our website, you would have to type it as 'Antequera Sta.ANA'. Therefore, you would do one search for the segment from 'Granada' to 'Antequera Sta.ANA' and then another search for connecting trains from 'Antequera Sta.ANA' to 'Madrid'.

The trains from Antequera to Madrid are high-speed AVE or Altaria trains.

    Hello Jeff.

Thank you so much for the information. One last question: Where do I get the bus to Antequera in Granada?

    Thanks a million, Walter

    Hi Walter.

The buses to Antequera actually depart right from the rail station in Granada.
