How do you select a seat on a train?

I just booked two tickets for later this month, but didn't see any option for selecting my seat. Now that I've booked and purchased the tickets, can I go into my reservation and select my seats?

  • Additional details: I purchased my tickets online at raileurope.com. The tickets are for (1) London to Paris Gare du Nord and (2) Paris to Barcelona-Sants. Thx for your help.

    Hi Fred,

    There is no way to make a specific seat selection for orders placed through our website. Passengers in a party are automatically seated together, if booked together in the same order and the availability allows for it. If you ever wish to request a specific type of seating arrangement, then you would call us at 1-800-622-8600 to place your order; and we would only be able to make some general requests, such as for window seats or aisle seats, and we can only do so on certain trains.

  • I just made a reservation on the basis that we could have solo seats facing each other, now I have nor choice????

      There is nothing on our website that says you would be seated in seats facing one another or that you would have any other type of seating arrangement. Passengers in a party are automatically seated together, if booked together in the same order and the availability allows for it. If you ever wish to request a specific type of seating arrangement, you would have to call us at 1-800-622-8600 to place your order. If you had done so for your recent purchase, we would have been able to try and confirm your desired type of seating arrangement (club seating), depending on the train you were purchasing tickets/reservations for.

      If you have questions about your specific order, you would have to contact us either by calling us at 1-800-622-8600 or by sending an email to customercare@raileurope.com.

      If you send an email, please be sure to include the booking number for your order, as well as your full first and last name. However, please note it can take up to 72 business hours to receive a reply with regard to email correspondence.
