    Hi Lauren,

Rail connections straight through from Paris to Oslo would take over a full day and involve several train changes en route. Due to the length of this trip, however, you would likely want to overnight at a stop along the way. For this journey, you would route yourself through Germany, Denmark, and Sweden. Out of Paris, you would head toward Cologne or possibly even Frankfurt or Mannheim. Then you would head up to Hamburg, Copenhagen, and finally Gothenburg before ending up in your destination of Oslo. You would check schedules and purchase tickets by searching these segments on our homepage, www.raileurope.com. For a trip of this length, you would have to piece together the connection by breaking up your search at points along the way and going segment-by-segment. Generally, for a connection such as this, if you are not able to piece anything together, it would be most beneficial to call us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays and Sundays.

  • Hi Liepa,

I am interested in the same goal of traveling from Paris to Osla via train as well (in an efficient and cost effective manner). Just wondering if you can provide any advice or tips based on what you've researched and experienced since you last posted.

    Thanks in advance!
    Jonathan

  • Thanks Jeff. Is there any particular reason you recommend going through Frankfurt/Mannheim? Just looking at a rail map, it seems going from Paris to Brussels, to Amsterdam, to Copenhagen is a much more direct route. Also, for me personally since I've been to Frankfurt (and not Brussels, Amsterdam) it would make sense from that perspective as well. But I'm just wondering if I'm missing something (cost/speed/convenience/restricted use of rail pass/etc.) because your proposed route was more "indirect" (east and then north vs. northeast)? Thanks!
