How realistic is 15 min to switch trains/connection in Milan?

only 15 minutes to make connection in Milan when taking night train from Paris to Rome. Is that enough time to make the connection? what if train is running late?

    Hi Dolores,

At the Milan Centrale station, we recommend 15-20 minutes to change trains. To arrange for a transfer time of your choosing, you would just do a separate search each segment of a connection when you go to purchase tickets (i.e. one search from Paris to Milan and then another search for connecting trains from Milan to Rome).

When you choose your trains into and out of Milan, be sure to account for the stations of arrival and departure. For instance, the night train from Paris to Milan only arrives into the Centrale station in Milan, while trains from Milan to Rome can depart from either Porta Garibaldi or the Centrale station.

The night train from Paris to Milan (the Thello Night train) carries single compartments, double compartments, triple compartments, 6-berth compartments, and 2nd class seats. Due to an error, it may currently be the case that our website is only able to offer one or two of these accommodation types. If you're interested in one of the accommodation types that isn't shown, you would have to call us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.

To view the type of compartment offered, you would click ‘Fare details’ after clicking on the fare itself.

Generally, the Thello Night train from Paris to Milan can be booked once within 120 days of an intended departure date. Trains from Milan to Rome also can be booked once within 120 days of a departure.
