I’m frustrated

How do I get from London to Belgium, travel there and then get to Avignon? Help!

I need help to find out which is the best option to get from London (don't need a train pass to travel whithin England..just to get to Belgium) to Brussels, then staying 8 nights at Brussels and visiting different points (Namur, Mechelen, Antwerpen, Bruge or Ghent and Ypres (if there's any train to get there), then just getting from Brussels to Avignon (Paris)..Is there any pass? should I buy separate tickets?

  • Hi Malu,

You can take the Eurostar from London to Brussels. For traveling around Belgium you can either purchase point to point tickets or you can purchase a Eurail Benelux-France Pass. This will also allow you travel to Avignon. When traveling to Avignon with a pass, you will also need to purchase reservations. These reservations must be available for the Eurail Passholder fare in order to travel.

I would recommend pricing out full fare tickets and compare that to a pass with the reservation from Brussels to Avignon to see which would be the best value.

I hope this information is helpful to you when planning your vacation.

    Thank you,
    Jen

      IMPORTANT UPDATE

As of this month (April 2018):

The following rail passes no longer qualify passengers to receive ‘passholder’ rates for reservations on the Eurostar:

Any single country Eurail Pass, including:

      • Eurail France Pass
      • Eurail Benelux Pass

Any 2 country option of Eurail Select Pass, including:

      • Eurail France-Italy Pass
      • Eurail France-Switzerland Pass
      • Eurail France-Germany Pass
      • Eurail Benelux-France Pass
      • Eurail France-Spain Pass
      • Eurail Benelux-Germany Pass

BritRail Passes and the France-Italy combination of the 2 country Eurail Select Pass continue to not be valid on the Eurostar.

Passengers traveling with any of these rail passes would need to purchase regular tickets to take the Eurostar.

Passholder rates will continue to be offered (depending on availability) to any passenger traveling with a Eurail Global Pass, a 3 country Eurail Select Pass (that includes the country of arrival or departure, be it France or the Benelux), or a 4 country Eurail Select Pass (that includes the country of arrival or departure, be it France or the Benelux).
