    Hi Jim,

Depending on the time of day, a connection from Frankfurt to Ashford would take about 8.5 hours and involve changing trains in either Brussels or Paris along the way.

The latest possible connection from Frankfurt to Ashford takes just over 7.5 hours in duration and involves 3 train changes along the way; once in Cologne, once in Brussels, and then once in Ebbsfleet.

You would check schedules and purchase tickets by searching a route under 'Find Train Tickets' on our homepage, www.raileurope.com. For a trip like the one from Frankfurt to Ashford, you would just have to piece together the connection by doing a separate search for each segment. When searching for trains from Brussels to Ebbsfleet, you would type 'Ebbsfleet International' in the field for the arrival city. When searching schedules for trains from Ebbsfleet to Ashford, you would type 'Ebbsfleet International' in the field for the departure city and 'Ashford International' in the field for the arrival city. Therefore, for the latest option, you would end up doing one search for trains from 'Frankfurt' to 'Cologne', another search for connecting trains from 'Cologne' to 'Brussels', another search for connecting trains from 'Brussels' to 'Ebbsfleet International', and another search for connecting trains from 'Ebbsfleet International' to 'Ashford International'.

When you pull up the results of your searches, just be sure to take note of the station of arrival for your train from Frankfurt to Cologne and the station of departure for your train from Cologne to Brussels. The trains from Frankfurt to Cologne may arrive into the Messe/Deutz station, while the trains from Cologne to Brussels will always depart from the Cologne Hbf station. Messe/Deutz and Hbf are only a few hundred meters from one another. Local trains between these stations only take 2 or 3 minutes.

From Frankfurt to Cologne, there are high-speed ICE (InterCity Express) and regular IC (InterCity) trains. Generally, these trains can be booked within 90-120 days of an intended departure.

Trains from Cologne to Brussels are high-speed Thalys trains. Generally, these trains can only be booked within 90 days of an intended departure.

Trains from Brussels to Ebbsfleet are high-speed Eurostar trains. Generally, these trains can be booked 6 to 9 months in advance of a departure.

Trains from Ebbsfleet to Ashford are Southeastern trains. Generally, these trains can only be booked within 90 days of an intended departure date.
