I'm traveling from Santiago de Compostela to Porto with my bicycle in a carrying bag. Are these allowed on that train?

    Hi Lucilia,

Yes, a bicycle can be taken on board any train if contained within a purpose-designed bicycle bag (measuring no more than 120cm x 90cm). A bike can fit in such a bag with the wheels and pedals detached and the handlebars parallel to the frame. There is no charge to transport a bike in one of these bags.

A connection from Santiago de Compostela to Porto involves changing trains once in Vigo along the way.

With that said, trains from Vigo to Porto are 'Celta' trains for which we are currently not able to issue tickets. Tickets for a train from Vigo to Porto are only able to be purchased locally.

If you wish, you can still view schedules for the trains from Vigo to Porto and ticket costs will display; just keep in mind that we wouldn't be able to confirm a request for one of these trains. To view schedules for trains from Vigo to Porto, you would have to be sure to type 'Vigo Guixar' in the field for the departure city when doing your search.

We are able to issue tickets from Santiago de Compostela to Vigo but not through our website. To arrange to purchase tickets for a train from Santiago de Compostela to Vigo, you would send an email to customercare@raileurope.com. Generally, trains from Santiago de Compostela to Vigo can be booked once within 90 days of an intended departure date.
