I’m confused

Is there an option to search for non-direct routes (ex. for a round-trip between Paris & Strasbourg) on your website? I would like certain connections instead of the direct trains.

I'm in Canada looking to book a roundtrip ticket from Paris - Strasbourg. On the SNCF website there's a box that you can check for "Direct trips only" which I left unchecked because I knew non-direct tickets would be cheaper. I found the tickets I'd like, but can only see them on SNCF because RailEurope is only showing me direct routes.

I'll be in Paris for week before leaving for Strasbourg so I have the option to book with SNCF and have them sent to my cousin there, but it would be much easier if I could purchase them through RailEurope and print them out at home. I would also see exactly how much I'm paying and not have to worry about what the conversion rate will be if I buy in euros.

Thanks for you help!

    Hi Jenna.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question. What is the specific connection from Paris to Strasbourg that you would like to purchase tickets for?

  • Hi Jeff,

Thanks for getting back to me. I've attached an image of the tickets I'd like to book. The first trip comes to 52.60 euros and the return trip comes to 52.70 euros. They show up no problem on SNCF when I uncheck the option to search for direct trains, I just can't seem to find a way to get them here - I can only see direct routes.

    Hi Jenna.

I'm very sorry for the delay getting back to you. I show that both of the options from your screenshot do display on our site. To get these specific schedules to display, you would have to do one of the following:

    - Search the outbound and the return separate from one another (separate 'One-Way' searches for each segment of the round-trip). In this case, you would do one search for your outbound from Paris to Strasbourg, add the selected option to your 'Itinerary' (shopping cart), click 'Add A Trip', do another search for your return from Strasbourg to Paris, and then add the selected option for that leg as well to your 'Itinerary'.

    - If you click the 'Round-Trip' option when you do your search, you would have to choose the specific hour of departure you want from the drop-down menus for each leg of the round-trip. Therefore, to display the options shown in your screenshot, your search would look like this:

  • I can only find the option I want for Paris-Strasbourg when I select round-trip - the Strasbourg-Paris option isn't there, but it is if I just select one-way.

Anyway, it's much cheaper to get them through SNCF for whatever reason so I think I'll just go with that. But thanks very much for your help, Jeff!
