London Heathrow to Paris to Geneva & then back to London Heathrow?

I will be traveling from USA to Europe in late April. What is the cheapest route for me to travel from London (Heathrow) to Geneva Switzerland to Paris, then back to London? Or London (Heathrow), to Paris to Geneva Switzerland to London Heathrow?

  • Hi Daphnee,

A connection from London to Geneva involves going through Paris, so it wouldn't matter which city you visit first in terms of cost. You would check ticket costs and schedules by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com.

Trains between London and Paris ('Eurostar' trains) are unique in that they can generally be booked 6 to 9 months in advance of a departure, while trains between Paris and Geneva ('TGV Lyria' trains) can ony be booked within 90 days of an intended date of departure.

Trains from London to Paris depart from the St. Pancras station in the city of London. To get from the Heathrow Airport to the St. Pancras station, you would take the Heathrow Express, which arrives into the Paddington station in London.

The Heathrow Express departs once every 15 minutes and takes about 15 minutes from terminals 1, 2 and 3 to Paddington and 23 minutes from terminal 5 to Paddington. To get from the Paddington station to the St. Pancras station, you would then take the Circle line of the Tube, which takes about 15 minutes in duration. You would pay to board the Tube locally upon arrival. Special tickets are issued for the Heathrow Express, which can be purchased by clicking here: http://www.raileurope.com/activities/heathrow-express/index.html

Since you would also be needing a ticket for your return to get from the St. Pancras station back to the airport, you would just purchase this ticket as a roundtrip.
