Local Trains from Cannes France to nearby cities

Hello, I am traveling from Paris France to Cannes France on August 1/14 and I will be booking it through Raileurope on the TGV but my question is while I'm in Cannes I take daily day trips from Cannes to other cities like Monaco, Menton, Nice, St Raphael etc... and I would like to know the name of the local train and if they have discount passes available. There are 5 of us traveling and if we could have a pass it would avoid us having to purchase tickets every day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Eve,

Yes, from Cannes you can take regional 'TER' trains to travel between all of those towns you mentioned along the Riviera. In addition to your train between Paris and Cannes, the France Rail Pass would cover those trains along the Riviera. With that said, you might not want to expend a day of travel on a France Rail Pass just for those short trips, and it might be more in your interest just to purchase regular tickets. The France Rail Pass would be more worth it for a round-trip between Paris and Cannes.

For your travel along the Riviera, you can purchase tickets and check schedules by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on the homepage of our website, Otherwise, if you do opt to purchase the France Rail Pass to cover your trip between Paris and Cannes, you can use any left-over days on the pass for any of those trips, it would be up to you. The regional 'TER' trains along the Riviera do not accept reservations, so the rail pass would be all you'd need to board.

The trains between Paris and Cannes do require reservations in addition to the rail pass. For travel with the rail pass, you would purchase reservations by clicking on 'Book your Rail Pass Reservations' on our homepage, instead of 'Find Fares & Schedules'. The trains between Paris and Cannes can sell out very quickly, especially during the busy Spring and Summer travel season, so I would recommend purchasing these reservation as soon as possible. These trains can be booked once within 90 days of an intended departure date.
