With a Swiss Pass, do we need reservations for Lugano to Lucerne & Lucerne to Interlaken?

We are traveling (Sept 4) from Lugano to Interlaken through Lucern. We have a swiss rail pass. Will we need reservations for train #680? or #2932?

    Hi Kelly,

On trains from Lugano to Lucerne and Lucerne to Interlaken, reservations are not necessary. Therefore, the Swiss Travel Pass would be all you'd need to board.

Lucerne to Interlaken is on the GoldenPass scenic route. All trains from Lucerne to Interlaken have panoramic windows for taking in the views.

If you like, you can still purchase reservations for each of these segments by clicking the 'Seat Reservations' tab on our homepage (www.raileurope.com), inputting the cities, and indicating the type of rail pass with which you'll be traveling (i.e. the 'Swiss Travel Pass'). For a trip such as this, you would do one search for trains from Lugano to Lucerne and another search for connecting trains from Lucerne to Interlaken.
