    Hi Sil,

For the past several years, there has been continuous construction on the rail line just outside Granada. During this time, trains have stopped operating as direct service all the way into Granada. Travelers heading to Granada would take the train as far as Antequera, where they would be switched to a bus that would take them into Granada. The buses connect right up with the trains at the station, so the transfer is easy.

I would not expect the situation to change before October. The national rail network of Spain itself has not announced when this will all be complete.

You would purchase tickets by doing a search under 'Find Train Tickets' on our homepage,

For the trip from Madrid to Granada, you would just have to break up your search in Antequera and type it as 'Antequera St.Ana'. Therefore, you would do one search for trains from Madrid to 'Antequera St.Ana' and another search from 'Antequera St.Ana' to Granada.

When you pull up the results of your search from 'Antequera St.Ana' to Granada, the departures that display will be labeled as 'MD' trains; however, you would actually be taking the bus I mentioned. The tickets will nonetheless be valid for you to take the bus.

Trains from Madrid to Antequera ('Antequera St.Ana') are AVE and Altaria trains.

Generally, trains in Spain can only be booked once within 90 days of an intended departure date.
