Madrid to Seville and beyond and back to Madrid ?

Traveling to Spain for first time - family of four landing in Madrid trying to get to Seville. 1. Do I buy tickets before arriving in Madrid, if so how? 2. Is that tix a euro pass or something diff? 3. Where do the trains from Seville go other than Madrid and will the train be able to take us back to Madrid if we use the train to get to another city? Thanks

    Hi Chris,

It is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance, prior to even departing for Europe. You would purchase tickets from Madrid to Seville by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage (www.raileurope.com) and entering the route. Trains from Madrid to Seville are high-speed 'AVE' or 'Alvia' trains. Generally, trains in Spain can be booked once within 90 days of an intended date of departure.

A rail pass is different than a ticket. A rail pass substitutes for ticket costs on trains. A ticket is valid for one train, while a rail pass covers the ticket costs for multiple trains over a set time period, which depends on the specific pass you purchase.

Trains do go to destinations other than Madrid from Seville. You can view a map of the rail lines in Europe by clicking on 'Europe Map & Guide' from the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. There you can zoom in to country or region where you are interested in traveling. The direct link to the rail map for Spain is https://www.raileurope.com/europe-travel-guide/spain/map.html. Using this map, you can see where the rail lines go from Seville.

You would refer back to 'Find Fares & Schedules' on our homepage to check schedules and purchase tickets for any other routes you might be interested in.
