    Hi Citla,

You can check ticket costs and schedules for these trains under 'Check Fares and Schedules' from the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. The most feasible way to travel between Paris and Barcelona is to take the direct overnight train, and the trains that connect Barcelona and Madrid are AVE trains.

Due to our link with the national rail network of Spain, our website requires that you enter the station names when you do searches for routes in Spain and also the overnight train from Paris to Barcelona. For the night train schedules between Paris and Barcelona, you would just type 'Paris Austerlitz' and 'Barcelona Estacio De Franca' when you do your search. For schedules between Barcelona and Madrid, you would just type 'Barcelona Sants' and 'Madrid Puerta De Atocha' when you do your search.

To view the type of sleeping compartment on a night train, you would click 'Select' listed with the fares when you pull up the results of your search on our website for a particular night train.

There are no single compartments on the night train from Paris to Barcelona that can sleep a party of 5. Therefore, you would divide up your party into 2 different compartments. Otherwise, if one of your children is 10 or under, that child can share a sleeping berth with another member of your party, however, the ticket for that child would have to be purchased locally at the station of departure in order to do this.

The night train from Paris to Barcelona can only be booked within 90 days of an intended date of departure, while the trains operating solely within Spain are only able to be booked within 60 days of an intended date of departure.

    Update follow-up:

The night train between Paris and Barcelona has actually been discontinued. With this train no longer operating, an overnight connection from Paris to Barcelona would now involve changing trains once in Toulouse en route. First, travelers would take the 'Intercités de Nuit' night train that goes from Paris to Toulouse. In Toulouse, they would switch to a 'France-Spain High Speed' train that goes to Barcelona.

Additionally, there is a new high-speed train that connects Paris and Barcelona during the day. This train is called the 'France-Spain High Speed', just like the direct train from Toulouse to Barcelona, and it allows travelers to travel between Paris and Barcelona only about 6.5 hours during the day.

Tickets for these trains would be purchased under 'Find Fares & Schedules' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. For the overnight option, you would just piece together the connection by doing a separate search for each segment. Therefore, you would do one search to access the night train from Paris to Toulouse and another search for connecting trains from Toulouse to Barcelona.

Generally, these trains can only be booked within 90 days of an intended travel date.
