How do you commute from the Madrid Barajas Airport to the Madrid Atocha station for a trip to Seville?

We are a party of 5 landing in Madrid and going right to Seville. How much time should we allow between landing and boarding train? What is the best way to make the commute to train station?

    Hi Jim,

To commute from the Madrid Barajas Airport into the city of Madrid, you would take the Line C-1 of the local Cercanías train network to the Atocha Cercanías station. Atocha Cercanías is adjacent to the Puerta de Atocha station, where trains to Seville depart from. Therefore, you would just be able to walk from the Cercanías branch of the station to the main Puerta de Atocha. The Cercanías trains from the airport to Atocha Cercanías depart once every 30 minutes throughout the day and take about 26 minutes in duration. You would pay to board these Cercanías trains locally at the turnstiles upon arrival.

You would purchase tickets and check schedules for trains from Madrid to Seville by clicking on 'Find Fares & Schedules' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. The trains from Madrid to Seville are high-speed AVE and high-speed Alvia trains.
