Milan Malpensa Airport to Bologna

HiWe arrive at MILAN, MALPENSA at 6.10am on Wednesday 23rd May and have to get to Bologna. We were planning to rent a car, but may be easier to take the high speed train. Can you advise what would be the best connections at that time and how long they would take? Thanks, NICK

    Hi Nick,

Milan Malpensa Airport does not have a rail station. Therefore, you would first just have to commute into the city of Milan. To get from Malpensa into the city, you would take the Malpensa Express to Milan Centrale station. The Malpensa Express trains depart every 30 minutes throughout the day, and the ride takes about 50 minutes to Centrale. Tickets for the Malpensa Express are only able to be purchased locally upon arrival.

Trains from the city of Milan to Bologna are Frecciarossa high-speed trains and Italo high-speed trains. The ride only takes about an hour.

You would purchase tickets from Milan to Bologna by searching the route under 'BOOK TRAIN TICKETS' on the homepage of our website, www.raileurope.com. Generally, these trains all can be booked once within 120 days of an intended departure date.
