    Hi Angela,

Trains in Germany (including cross-border trains between Amsterdam and a station in Germany) do offer certain fares, labeled on our website as 'Flex Fares', which would be valid to use for a later train on the same day.

When you pull up the results of your schedule searches on our site, you would see the fare type you're being offered by clicking on the fare itself and then 'Fare details'. When you click on 'Fare details', a box will pop up with the name of the fare you're being offered. If the fare is labeled 'Flex Fare', then you know the ticket we issue will be valid for to use to take a later on the same day.

If the fare is labeled 'Sparpreis' or 'Sparpreis Europa', then the tickets would not be valid for any other departure than the one you booked.

If for a particular route our website does not offer you a 'Flex Fare', then you would have to call us to purchase the ticket, and we can try to issue that for you. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.

With all this said, there should no reason that you'd miss the connecting train to Hamburg. At the station in Osnabrück, you'd only need 7-10 minutes to change trains, if that.
