Munich-Berlin Overnight with Rail Pass

Is an overnight train from Munich to Berlin covered with a rail pass+reservation? When I search for tickets and check that I have a rail pass, no results are showing on any dates or times to reserve a seat. Thanks!

    Hi Ashley,

There is no longer a direct overnight train from Munich to Berlin. An overnight connection from Munich to Berlin would now involve changing trains once in Hannover along the way. The segment from Munich to Hannover would be on the actual night train. Trains from Munich to Hannover and Hannover to Berlin are both covered by any rail pass that includes Germany.

On the night train from Munich to Hannover, reservations would be required as a supplement to the rail pass. Trains from Hannover to Berlin are ICE (InterCity Express) trains, on which reservations would be highly recommended as a supplement to the rail pass.

However, due to an error, the night train from Munich to Hannover is currently not able to be booked on our website. Until this is resolved, you would have to purchase these particular reservations by calling us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays.

Generally, the night train from Munich to Hannover would be able to be booked within 90 days of an intended departure date, while the ICE trains from Hannover to Berlin can be booked within 90-180 days of a departure.
