I would like to travel to Germany, Austria, and Italy so I was going to purchase the Select Pass. I read online that if I want to take a train from Berlin to Vienna than I would also have to purchase a pass that goes through the Czech Republic. Is this true?

Your Eurail Select Pass would need to cover every country you are traveling in or going through. Since the trains from Berlin to Vienna goes through the Czech Republic it should be included on your Eurail Select Pass.Comment

Or, you could purchase a ticket border to border for the country without the pass. I had a German Rail Pass, but was leaving from Prague to Heidelberg. It was simple. Just purchase a ticket from Prague to the border and then your German pass covers the rest. -

Generally, you can purchase reservations by clicking on 'Book your Rail Pass Reservations' on the homepage of our website (www.raileurope.com), however, passholder reservations for the night train from Vienna to Berlin ('Metropol' EuroNight train) are not able to be viewed or booked there at this time. Therefore, to purchase reservations for this train and inquire about its reservation costs, you would have to call us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM CT Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CT on Saturdays. It is generally the case that this train can only be booked within 90 days of an intended date of departure. -
