night sleeper train from Barcelona to Granada

I am trying to book a sleeper from Barcelona to Granada in October 2017 and tried earlier dates to get the pricing. I continue to get the "cannot help you at this date leave your email." Is this sleeper connection available in October 2017? If so, what is the cost? Thanks!

    Hi Linda,

A couple years ago, the national rail network of Spain ceased selling tickets for the night train from Barcelona to Granada and removed it from various schedule sources. It may be that they've discontinued this service, be it permanently or just temporarily. They may reintroduce this service once construction on the rail line just outside Granada is able to be completed. As of now, I would not expect it to be running by October of this year.

A connection from Barcelona to Granada would involve taking a high-speed AVE train from Barcelona to Antequera, where you would be switched to a bus that would take you to Granada.

You would purchase tickets by searching a route under 'Find Train Tickets' on our homepage, www.raileurope.com. For the trip from Barcelona to Granada, you would just have to break up your search once in Antequera and type it as 'Antequera St.Ana'. Therefore, you would do one search for trains from Barcelona to 'Antequera St.Ana' and another search from 'Antequera St.Ana' to Granada. When you pull up the results of your search from 'Antequera St.Ana' to Granada, the departures that display will be listed as MD trains; however, you would actually be taking the bus that I mentioned. The tickets will nonetheless be valid for you to take the bus.

Generally, trains in Spain can only be booked once within 90 days of an intended departure date.
