    Hi Bhavika,

I'm very sorry for the delay getting back to you. Taking the overnight train from Paris to Nice would only use up 1 'travel day' on a flexi rail pass (a flexipass is a pass that allows for a set number of travel days that must be completed within a longer time frame).

'Travel days' on a flexipass refer to how many separate days you plan on using your rail pass. A 'travel day' is a 24 hour period from midnight to midnight. You may take as many trains as you wish during the 24 hour time frame and still only use one day of travel on a pass. For instance, if you were take a day train from 'city A' to 'city B' and then take a connecting train to 'city C' on the same day, then you would only use up one day of travel on your rail pass. In contrast, if you were to take that connecting train to 'city C' on the next day, that would constitute 2 days of rail travel on your pass.

With a flexipass, if you happen to take a night train that departs prior to 7 pm and arrives into the destination the following morning, then 2 days of rail travel will be used up on a rail pass. Most night trains; however, do depart after 7 pm (including the night train from Paris to Nice), in which case only 1 'travel day' would be used up on a rail pass.

For travel with a rail pass, you would purchase reservations by entering a route on our homepage (www.raileurope.com) and indicating the type of rail pass you'll be traveling with when you're prompted.

Generally, trains in France can be booked once within 90 days of an intended date of departure. The night train from Paris to Nice is an 'Intercités de Nuit' train.
