Norway in a Nutshell

Norway in a Nutshell, does it include the option to see the fjords by ferry?, and can we stop at any destination for whatever amount of time?... This is our first time traveling with Euro Rail system and we are confused as how it works, we would like to see as much of Norway as possible in 8 days. Thank You!

    Hi Consuelito,

The Norway in a Nutshell does include a ferry through the fjords, offering up spectacular views. This tour is a must if you plan on traveling around Norway.

For the Norway in a Nutshell, you would take a train from Oslo up to Myrdal, where you would switch to the famous Flåm railway to Flåm. The rest of the Norway in a Nutshell trip would have you taking a ferry from Flåm to Gudvangen, a bus from Gudvangen to Voss, and then a train from Voss to Bergen.

You can stop at points along the way, you would just have 2 months to complete the entire trip once it's begun. You can purchase the Norway in a Nutshell here: http://www.raileurope.com/rail-ticket....

If you will not be traveling with a rail pass, you would purchase the 'Oslo-Voss-Bergen' option of the Norway in a Nutshell package to travel from Oslo to Bergen via Flåm. Also, you would have to be sure to choose the option 'Oslo-Voss-Bergen 1404' instead of 'Oslo-Voss-Bergen 1405', because the '1405' option is the one for the child rate.

  • Thank you so much!... Now, I was looking to stay one night in Flam, one in Gudvangen and one or two in Bergen, are there any hotels that you could recommend? We are not interested in very fancy/elegant but more in the traditional type of hotel. Thank you again!
