paris to amsterdam error message

Hi I can't seem to make a reservation for ANY of the trips I had planned. Currently I am trying to book from Paris to Amsterdam on July 31 with my 4 country rail pass (france, benelux, italy, germany) but I keep getting the following message: "The fares you requested are not available with the selected rail pass. Please select a regular fare and proceed to the next step."
WHY?!!

    Hi Joni,

    For travel as close as July 31st, it is most likely the case that the passholder rates are already sold out. Trains from Paris to Amsterdam are Thalys trains that can sell out very quickly. If you would like to verify availability, you would have to call us. We can be reached at 1-800-622-8600 or 1-847-916-1028. Our current hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM CT Monday to Friday.

  • Thank you for your reply, but I am still confused...
    The rail europe website is showing that 2nd class tickets are still available, but for a very large fee- much larger than the reservation fee. If my rail pass is for 2nd class tickets why would that fare not be included in my pass?

      While passholder reservation fees on Thalys trains are higher than the typical passholder reservation fees for most other reservable trains, it still may be the case that what you're seeing is the regular ticket price.

      On Thalys trains, there is a set allotment of seats that can be sold out at the passholder rates. If that allotment is sold out, you would be quoted the regular ticket prices. For travel as close as July 31st, it is possible that the passholder rates are already sold out.
