I’m frustrated

Pending status for Barcelona to Madrid, needs confirmation.

I booked a ticket from Barcelona to Madrid using Rail Europe. I received the following message:We are holding the order in our system to advise you that due to the annual summer schedule change, we are unable to confirm your reservations at this time. The European rail companies are in the process of loading the trains into the international reservation system. However, there are still some trains that have not been loaded.When will Rail Europe tell me whether they can confirm my reservation? I need to know whether I should book elsewhere, and I do not want to be in a position where I'm paying last minute prices.

    Hi Ollie,

    The national rail network of Spain has not yet opened up their trains to book for dates in June and beyond. It is the national network of Spain themselves who have not yet made these dates available. Therefore, it isn't a matter of needing to book elsewhere, because these dates are not available through anyone anywhere at this point. This is an annual and expected occurrence this time of year. If you already submitted your order and you were told in the email "we will attempt to confirm your order on a daily basis", then your request will be confirmed as soon as the Spanish rail network makes their trains available, at which point we would notify you and send you the tickets. We expect them to open up June and July dates at some point within the next couple weeks, so it should happen any day now.
